Smell at Easley Plant Sends 4 to Hospital

Easley fire crews responded to YH America after calls about a possible hazardous materials situation.

Four people were sent to the hospital after a strange odor was reported at an Easley plant.

Easley Fire Chief Butch Womack told WSPA that firefighters responded to YH America on Hagood Street after receiving a hazardous materials call.

Four workers were transported to the hospital, while many others were treated at the scene for stomach problems and headaches, WSPA reported. Firefighters believe the smell came from a construction area at the plant.
