"Winnie-the-Pooh" Opens Friday

There's nothing that Winnie-the-Pooh loves more than honey, except for maybe his little friend, Piglet.

But when Piglet is forced to take a bath and can't see his friend Pooh, what's a poor Pooh bear to do?

Directed by Donna Duffie, the cast of "Winnie-the-Pooh" will delight both the young and the young-at-heart.

That silly ol' bear and his friends are off on an adventure to save Piglet at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the .

After a dress rehearsal, the cast took questions from children in the audience from Miracle Hill.

"Why do they all have on costumes?" asked Samuel.

"So everyone will know what character they area," said Duffie.

"Eeyore, you talk like a robot," commented another child.

To which a gloomy Eeyore responded, "Thank you, but I wasn't trying to sound like a robot. I wanted to sound like Eeyore."

"Owl has on glasses, they make him look smart!" said another bespectacled child.

"Why is Kanga so sassy," another wanted to know.

The children learned Pooh had a big appetite, that grape juice was one of the props and Owl wears lipstick, but only to give him a prominent beak.

But the biggest question of all, "why do you do this?"

"Because it's fun," shouted the Pooh cast.

Duffie said that she was incredibly proud of this cast. She said they've had 14 rehearsals to get ready for this weekend.

"They make my heart swell," Duffie said of the cast. "Very intelligent children. Very blessed. I am so excited about this show. They have really worked hard."

Shows will continue this weekend at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. The show also will run March 23-25 and March 30-April 1. Shows will be at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and at 3 p.m. Sundays.

Tickets are $13 for adults, $11 for seniors and $6 for children and students.
