• Columbia police vehicle in early morning crash on Bookman Road; investigation ongoing (wltx.com) — An early-morning crash at Bookman Road and Old Two Notch Road in Elgin sent a Columbia Police officer to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and heavily damaged both vehicles. Highway Patrol is still investigating what caused the collision, which residents say happened along a stretch of Bookman Road where wrecks are common and kept the area busy with law enforcement for several hours.
