Assaults Continue to Lead July Crime in Berkeley County

Assaults make up nearly one-third of crime during the month of July.

Berkeley County crime has continued to be dominated by assaults in July, according to RaidsOnline.com, which compiles data submitted by Berkeley County Sheriff's Office. 

Patch reported on the trend in assaults earlier this month.

Assaults have made up more than 27 percent of crimes from July 1 until July 23. Thefts led Berkeley County crime in June. 

Here are the main crimes for the month:

  • All other crime — 11.1 percent
  • Drug violations — 11.1 percent
  • Burglaries, thefts, shoplifting and other incidents are reported at 5.6 percent each
