Assaults Continue to Lead July Crime in Berkeley County

Assaults have made up nearly one-third of Berkeley County crime during July, according to RaidsOnline.com, which compiles data submitted by Berkeley County Sheriff's Office.

Data shows that more than 27 percent of crimes in the county have been recorded as assaults from July 1 until July 23. Thefts led Berkeley County crime in June.

• All other criminal — 11.1 percent
• Drug violations — 11.1 percent
• Burglaries, shoplifting, thefts and more were all recorded at 5.6 percent each
