
Two Berkeley County K-9 handlers filed suit against the county, claiming the county has not paid them for the time taking care of the dog, Live 5 News reported.
Live 5 reported:
"James Blakely filed the lawsuit in federal court in May. A second deputy has joined him. The officers are suing under the Fair Labor Standards Act. The suit says the law requires police departments to pay officers with police dogs for the time they take care of their animals."
