City Authorizes Purchase at Highway 52, Redbank Road

Goose Creek City Council authorizes $195,000 purchase for three parcels of land.

Goose Creek City Council unanimously authorized the city administrator to purchase three parcels of land at the corner of Redbank Road and Highway 52 during Tuesday's regular meeting.

Council went into executive session briefly to discuss the terms. After executive session, council voted to purchase the parcels for $195,000.

The parcels do not belong to the town yet. The authorization only allows Administrator Dennis Harmond to make the purchase. 

City Council has no plans for the lots, which include a bar called the Village Social Club but not the neighboring Title Loan. The only plan is to have the property for future development, according to council members.

"It will be something a whole lot nicer than it is now," Mayor Michael Heitzler said.
