Goose Creek Walmart Raises $46k for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals
Goose Creek store is 16th in the country for their Children's Miracle Network fundraising in 2013.
MUSC Children’s Hospital is a member of the Children’s Miracle Network and is fortunate enough to benefit from all CMN fundraising efforts throughout the year. Walmart is our largest CMN corporate sponsor and each year they hold a 6 week campaign to help raise money for each region’s Children’s Hospital. This means that, here in Charleston, each of our market area’s 13 Walmart stores raised money for MUSC’s Children’s Hospital. This year’s campaign kicked off on May 7thand ran through June 21st. In that short 6 weeks, our 13 stores collectively raised $189,065. Goose Creek Walmart store # 2928 raised a whopping $45,961.90. This amazing store is 16th in the country for their CMN fundraising in 2013.
On Friday, July 12, 2013, we are thanking the Goose Creek Walmart store and its customers. Our celebration will begin at 11:15 am. Because the donations ultimately come from the Walmart customers, we want to make sure the community is aware of how generous they were and how their donations make a difference in the lives of over 200,000 children that walk through the doors of MUSC each and every year.
Since its founding in 1987, MUSC Children’s Hospital is now ranked as one of the top pediatric facilities in the country. The Charles P. Darby Children’s Research Institute, opened in February of 2005, houses 150 state of the art laboratories where researchers look for the prevention, treatment and cures for illnesses like diabetes, sickle cell and cancer. The Institute is one of 15 in the country and the only research center for children in the Carolinas.
