Haley Visits Swing States for Romney

Perhaps Nikki Haley can provide the boost that Mitt Romney's presidential campaign needs. After a week spent answering questions about the 47 percent and fending off criticisms from other Republicans, the Romney campaign is looking to reverse the narrative, as it were.

In the last several months, Haley has said repeatedly that a new occupant in the White House would be one of the best cures for what ails the South Carolina economy. Today, she continues her effort to make that a reality.

With an ever-shrinking number of battleground states—many experts think there are now eight or nine states up for grabs, down from 12—the former Massachusetts governor has states that he must win if he wishes to claim the presidency. Two of those states are Virginia and North Carolina. And that's where Gov. Haley scheduled stops on Monday.

At 9 a.m., Haley will be at the Halle Cultural Center leading a "Women for Mitt" rally in Apex, NC, which is part of the "Research Triangle" region and a much sought-after demographic of professional and/or highly educated women. At 12:30 p.m., Haley will be at the Romney team offices in Sterling, VA.

Recent polls show Romney and Pres. Obama in a dead heat in North Carolina and Obama with a lead of between three and eight percentage points in Virginia. North Carolina has 15 electoral votes, while Virginia has 13.
