
A serious vehicle v. motorcycle wreck on St. James Avenue in Goose Creek sent the rider to MUSC via medical helicopter at around 7:45 a.m. Monday.
As of Monday evening, the 33-year-old Summerville man remained in serious condition and in a coma. He was wearing a helmet.
According to the incident report, the rider was thrown 30 yards away after a he was struck by a taxi driven by Vincent Loyola Shaw, 59, of North Charleston. Shaw was cited for failure to yield the right of way, according to Live 5 News.Â
Shaw was making a left-hand turn and cutoff the motorcycle rider, according to his statement in the report.Â
