On this Day in Goose Creek History: Three People Struck by Lightning
One of those injured by lightning was a 12-year-old boy holding an umbrella.

Three years ago Friday, a 12-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man were struck by lightning in two separate incidents, according to the National Weather Service in Charleston's Today in History.
On July 26, 2010, two of the people truck were sent to the hospital with injuries. According to Hamweather.com, the 12-year-old boy was struck while holding an umbrella, and the two others were struck were struck playing football outside.Â
During that time, severe storms impacted parts of southern South Carolina and southeast Georgia, resulting in reports of wind damage, hail, flooding and lightning.
