Sheriff: Rutt Lane Area 'Heavily Drug Infested'

The four suspects arrested Friday on Rutt Lane on various drug and weapons charges remain in the Hill-Finklea Detention Center following bond hearings this morning.

Law enforcement described the area as "heavily drug infested."

Bail was set Saturday for:

• Larry Williams, charged with Trafficking Cocaine, Trafficking Cocaine Base (Crack), Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Manufacturing Marijuana and two counts of Distribution near a School, $85,000
• Ricky Rutledge, charged with Trafficking Cocaine, Trafficking Cocaine Base (Crack), Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Manufacturing Marijuana and two counts of Distribution near a School, $55,000
• Priscilla Baylock, charged with Trafficking Cocaine, Distribution near a School, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Violent Crime, Possession of a Stolen Firearm and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, $66,620
• Darvis Baylock, charged with Trafficking Cocaine, Distribution near a School, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Violent Crime, Possession of a Stolen Firearm and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, $60,620.00

Berkeley County Sheriff Wayne DeWitt released this statement:

We had multiple reports that this area was heavily drug infested.  Our narcotics team set it's sights on this area of the county and following several undercover buys by agents, acted swiftly to carry out the operation that resulted in the arrests and seizure of drugs and weapons on Friday afternoon.

DeWitt further stated that his office will continue it's efforts to combat drug drug related problems "in order to ensure that our communities and streets are a safer place to live and travel."
