Forest Lawn Home Damaged in Fire, Possibly Caused by Lightning

Goose Creek Rural Fire Department responded to the Tuesday afternoon fire.

A Tuesday afternoon fire, possibly sparked by a lightning strike, has damaged a Forest Lawn home.

At around 1 p.m. Tuesday, three Goose Creek Rural Fire Department units responded to 115 Cannon Avenue, off of Red Bank Road in Goose Creek.

The fire, which appears to have started in the laundry area of the home, was contained "rather quickly," according to Assistant Chief Bob Maibach. 

The home was occupied at the time of the fire, but no injuries are being reported. Maiback described the damage to the home as "not a total loss."
