Westview Primary Calls Teacher Trying to Stop Kidnapping Heroic
Teacher suffered injuries as she tried to stop two women from taking a child from her classroom.

Westview Primary officials are calling the actions of a teacher — who tried but failed to keep two women from allegedly kidnapping one of her students — heroic, according to Live 5 News.
Meanwhile, Berkeley County School District is reviewing its safety proceedures with law enforcement.Â
On May 2, Ferdauss Rahmatullah and Neely Blanchard allegedly walked into Westview Primary and illegally took Blanchard's 4-year-old child. Blanchard does not have custody of the child, according to Goose Creek Police.Â

During the incident, Rahmatullah and Neely gained access to the school. Neely entered the classroom where her child was located, unanounced. Neely allegedly told the teacher she had regained custody of the child, and showed her some papers, Live 5 News reported.Â
As Neely and Rahmatullah left with the child, the teacher can be seen on surveillance video tugging at Neely to keep them from going. Later, in the parking lot and after informing the front office, the teacher tried to stop the vehicle, getting hurt in the process, Live 5 News reported.

Neely and Rahmatullah were later caught by S.C. Highway Patrol about a half hour after the incident was reported.
