Beaufort Memorial Hospital cited by feds after woman gave birth in parking lot (islandpacket.com) — Beaufort Memorial Hospital has been cited by federal regulators after a woman was forced to give birth alone in a car outside its Beaufort campus, prompting new training and staffing changes. The hospital also confirmed its expansion plans include a new emergency and urgent care facility on Hilton Head Island, envisioned as one of the state’s first hybrid centers, which could significantly affect local access to emergency care.
