White Knoll High School's athletic director and football coach Gordon Walters is leaving Lexington County School District One, according to reports.
Walters is taking an assistant coaching position as defensive coordinator and strength coach at Waccamaw High School in Pawley's Island, according to a report in The State. He'll finish the school year at White Knoll.
Walters, who started as a coach for the Timberwolves in 2009, took on the position of athletic director on what was supposed to be an interim basis, according to The State. After three years in both positions, the avid surfer says he's ready to slow down.
