Man Arrested in West Columbia Bank Robbery

Police arrested a 50-year-old man who they say robbed a West Columbia bank this morning.

West Columbia police arrested a man who they say robbed a bank on Sunset Boulevard Thursday morning. 

Timothy Osborne, 50, is accused of taking an undetermined amount of money from Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union at 2120 Sunset Boulevard.

Police say he entered the bank around 9 a.m. with a large knife and demanded money from one of the tellers. He then fled the scene.

Officers responded very quickly and started checking the area, according to a press release from the West Columbia Police Department. One of the officers found Osborne inside Congaree State Bank, which is located down the street from Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union. 

Police say Osborne was waiting on a taxi.

Officers recovered the stolen money from inside Osborne's shirt, according to the West Columbia Police Department. They also say they found his knife near the bank robbery scene.
