ALERT: New Traffic Pattern on I-385 Starts Tomorrow

Lane change to last about four months

The South Carolina Department of Transportation announced that starting tomorrow evening at 10 p.m. traffic on I-385 between Woodruff Road and Butler Road will be moved onto a new concrete pavement. The new traffic pattern will be in place for approximately four months.

More details from SCDOT:

  • The combined exit off of mainline Southbound I-385 leading to Butler Road, Bridges Road, and  I-185/SC417 will be moving from near Butler Road to near Woodruff Road and utilize a portion of the new concrete pavement to access these exits.
  • Motorists are urged to use caution when approaching the three exits; there will be directional signs, as well as concrete pavement that the temporary traffic will be on.
  • Motorists are also reminded to follow the posted speed limit, which has been reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph.
  • Barricades and signs will be used to direct drivers through the new traffic pattern.
  • The concrete pavement will not be representative of the final product. The Lane Construction Company will smooth the final pavement later on in the project.
  • The mainline Southbound through traffic, however, will remain where they currently are and the mainline traffic will remain at 55 mph.
