More info on the Raptors:
The Ogden Raptors were founded in 1977 and play at Lindquist Field which has a capacity of 5,602. The Raptors are members of the Pioneer League, which has been in existence in various forms since 1939. The Pioneer League is a short-season Rookie League that starts play in June. The season is made up of two halves with 38 games per half.
The league is made up of teams in the Rocky Mountains. Current franchises are located in Billings, Montana; Great Falls, Montana; Helena, Montana; Missoula, Montana; Casper, Wyoming, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Orem, Utah and Ogden.
The Raptors have been a farm team for the Cardinals, Expos, Brewers and, since 2003, the Dodgers.
Among the notable major leaguers who have played in Ogden are Prince Fielder, Ben Sheets and Corey Hart.
Here’s hoping Wingo adds his name to that list.
Good luck, Scott!
