Making a Splash: Mavs' Danielle Galyer Qualifies for Olympic Swim Trials

Mauldin High School junior to-be Danielle Galyer has qualified for the 2012 Olympic Swimming Time Trials thanks to her performance in the 200 meter backstroke. Danielle and sister Allie are competing with the finest swimmers in America this week at the Conoco Phillips National Championship meet in Palo Alto, California, hosted by Stanford University. Despite going up against swimmers who are often several years her senior, Danielle earned the right to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.

The Time Trials will be held from June 25 to July 2 next year in Omaha, Nebraska.

Danielle is a member of Coach Patricia Gettys’ swim team at Mauldin High School.
