Bi-Lo Celebrates Renovation By Giving to Charity

Customers will noticed a more well-lit and user-friendly store

On Wednesday, BI-LO marked the renovation of the store on 207 West Butler Road with a ribbon-cutting and donations to local charities.

In the backyard of the corporate headquarters, the Butler Road site has special meaning to BI-LO officials.

“Part of our strategy has been to look at what we’ve learned through our Super BI-LO stores,” said BI-LO President and CEO Michael Byars. “We have stores in good locations but we knew this is a location in need of an update.”

The store installed a warmer and richer color palette, which is particularly noticeable in the produce section. Shelving was lowered at points throughout the site to be more accessible to customers.

The upgrades are in keeping with the “Savings Without Sacrifice” initiative, according to Byars that will bring a uniform experience to BI-LO customers.

The BI-LO in Greer received a similar renovation.

The big beneficiaries, aside from the customers were St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School and the Mauldin Fire Department. After the ribbon cutting, the former received $1,000, while the latter received 3,500 bottles of water. Harvest Hope Food Bank also was the recipient of a “fill the truck” effort.
