UPDATE: Man Found Dead in Car Was From Mauldin

Foul play not suspected, no criminal investigation planned

Authorities have identified the person who was found dead in a car yesterday morning in Walgreens parking lot as 56-year-old Travis Casey of Mauldin.

Jeff Fowler of the Greenville County Coroner's office confirmed that Casey had been in the car overnight and was in the passenger's seat when he was noticed by a customer at approximately 10 a.m. on Saturday morning. Walgreens opens at 8 a.m.

Fowler said that an autopsy will be conducted on Monday.

Mauldin Police are saying that the person who died inside a car at parking lot was not a victim of foul play and no criminal inestigation is planned.

Detective Ben Ford said a customer noticed that the person was situated in an unusual way inside the vehicle and notified employees. A nurse happened to be in the store at the time and she checked the person's vital signs which indicated that the person had died. The police were subsequently called as was the Greenville County Coroner, who confirmed the death.

Ford said that the person had been in the car since the night before. The deceased's identity has not been released as family have not yet been notified.
