Car Chase Starting in Mauldin Results in Multiple Accidents
Preliminary reports indicate no serious injuries

A car chase that started in Mauldin between 12:30 and 1 p.m. on Thursday ended in Spartanburg County with at least five other vehicles being damaged.
Officers from multiple agencies were involved in the pursuit of Robert Jeremy Lynch, 24, of Greer, who was driving a 2002 Ford F-150 pickup truck. According to WYFF, Lynch had two passengers who are wanted as burglary suspects.
Detective Ben Ford of the Mauldin Police Department said the incident began when a Mauldin police officer saw Lynch’s vehicle speeding on Tanner Road and began pursuit to cite him for driving in excess of the speed limit. Lynch did not pull over and instead led the officer on a chase that eventually brought in officers from South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) and Spartanburg County, Ford said.

He is currently being held in Spartanburg County Detention Center. Charges from Mauldin are still pending. It is undetermined what charges will be filed by SCHP.
