
Author, Kami Kinard, to Speak at Langston - Kami Kinard, author of The Boy Project, is coming to Langston Friday, Jan. 20th, from 9:15-12 (3 assemblies- 9:15-10:00, 10:00-10:45, and 10:45-12:00) to speak about the elements of writing a book - specifically research and revision. Parents and media are welcome to attend.
Langston Service Club – A service club is currently being formed to allow students to explore social issues that affect our community (homelessness, poverty, foster care, developmentally disabled kids, isolated elderly...) and inspire the students to create projects to help. Langston Art Class – Enrollment is currently underway for a Langston art class at the CATs Art Studio on Fridays, 2:00pm – 3:30pm, January 13, 2012 – May 4, 2012. Parents will carpool students to the art studio and back to Langston on Friday afternoons. Cost is $375 for the 15 week semester. Langston Tennis Teams Now Forming - Langston teams will play in the U14 Division of Greenville Junior Team Tennis. Matches will take place at 6:00pm on Friday evenings beginning late February/ early March. Players must become members of the USTA organization ($19/year Jr. membership fee) and local registration fees are $39. Stevie B’s Spirit Night – Langston’s Spirit Night is Thursday, January 26 at Stevi B's Pizza on Woodruff Road. Stevie B’s will donate $1.00 for each person who mentions Langston.
