Committee Meeting Recap: Greenlink Line to Start in Mauldin on Oct. 1
Bus line will connect Golden Strip to Greenlink

During Committee Meetings on Tuesday, spokesperson Greg Baney confirmed that the Greenlink bus route through Mauldin will begin on Oct. 1 of this year.
Three new low-floor, wheelchair-friendly were approved for purchase at Tuesday's meeting, with Greenlink making the purchase on Mauldin's behalf. Greenlink will for the first five years. Should the new buses not be ready by Oct. 1, Greenlink will utilize vehicles from its existing fleet.
The last of the public feedback hearings on the new route was held in Simpsonville on Thursday evening. Greenlink will take the feedback they've received from the public and, working with officials from Mauldin and Simpsonville, make an official route proposal. By the end of April or early May, that proposal will be made public and feedback on it will be taken.

Also at Tuesday's Meeting:
The city is looking to change the name of the Building and Zoning Department to more accurately reflect its operations. Among the names suggested Business and Development Services Department.

The property at 109 Monroe was approved to go before the full council and be voted on for annexation. There are potential issues with the property accessing the city sewer.
All department's noted that they are under budget for the current fiscal year, but City Administrator Trey Eubanks advised council that the gaps between revenues and expenses will begin to close in the Spring months. ""We're going to be tight on our revenues," Eubanks said. "But our expenditures are in good shape."
The finance committee also approved an amendment that will allow the city the to residents. The amendment was required to change the budget in the middle of the fiscal year. The refund will cost the city in excess of $300,000.
