Cultural Center to Host Reunion for Original Mauldin High and Elementary Students
A reunion plus one last homework assignment

In recognition of the 75th birthday of the original Mauldin High and Elementary Schools, the Mauldin Cultural Center will host a reunion and fundraisers on November 5 at 6 p.m.
The former schools have been through several incarnations and is now home to the Cultural Center and the Chamber of Commerce.
Anyone who worked or attended school in the original building can attend. The event will feature dinner, entertainment and dancing.

In addition to recognizing the past, the reunion will also look to the future, as it will be held after the auditorium has been renovated and after the landscaping work has been completed.
“We're looking for this event to bring everyone together and celebrate not only reuniting old friends, but also celebrating the history of Mauldin and of this building, and its future,” said George McLeer, Executive Director of the Cultural Center.

Tickets are $40/person and go on sale Thursday, September 1 on the MCC website – www.mauldinculturalcenter.org and can also be purchased at the office located at 101 East Butler Road beginning Wednesday, September 7. Seating is limited, so advance purchases are recommended as they do expect the event to sell out.
The Center is asking those who attended the schools to submit hand-written, one-page personal stories about their time at MHS or MES. The stories will be used for a “secret public project” said McLeer.
Details can be found on the Cultural Center website. Submissions are due by November 1 to be included in the aforementioned project. The attached pdf may be used for submission purposes.
