Dodgers Exec Talks Wingo

The Mauldin High and USC star is getting his timing down in Arizona

Since he was assigned to the Dodgers rookie team in Arizona, Mauldin Patch has been tracking Scott Wingo as he launches his professional career.

It was originally thought that Wingo would be reporting to the Dodgers Rookie League team in Ogden, Utah, but it appears the Dodgers organization will be keeping him in Arizona for a bit while he gets his timing back after a three-week layoff. Mauldin Patch caught up with Dejon Watson, the Dodgers Assistant General Manager of Player Development to get the low down on what’s next for Wingo.

Watson said Wingo is projected to move on to Ogden in the next week or so while he gets back into game shape.

“We like the way he plays and we like his makeup,” Watson said. “He’s a gamer.”

Watson added that a variety of factors come into play when evaluating when to advance a player, particularly at such an early stage in his career.
