Donaldson Center Fire Department Receives Donation from Firehouse Subs
Year-long effort raised over $3,000
On Wednesday, the firefighters at Donaldson Center Fire Department got a little bit safer. Several members of the department were on hand to receive a MultiRae Plus, a hazardous materials detection unit, courtesy of the .
The unit, valued at approximately $3,250, will help firefighters to measure the level of toxic materials at the scene of an emergency.
Donaldson Center Chief J.R. Boyce said, “We’re grateful for what Firehouse does to help make our firefighters and community safer.”

Franchisee Eliott Goldsmith helped present the equipment, which will allow firefighters to replace five different tests when time is of the essence. The money was raised through a variety of initiatives at the Butler Road location, which is one of the top fundraising locations in the Firehouse network of restaurants.
Donaldson Center F.D. Chairman Don Young was in attendance as was Assistant Chief Mike Stadler, who helped write the grant to apply for the equipment.
