Electrical Snafu Prompts Fire Evacuation at Mauldin High
Electrical panel catches fire, but is promptly put out.

An electrical panel at Mauldin High short circuited Monday causing a small flame and smoke that prompted the temporary evacuation of a building on campus, Greenville County Schools spokeswoman Susan Clarke said.
A surge protector managed to quickly put out the fire.
After Mauldin Fire Department verified the electrical panel caused the alarm to go off, the school was given all clear for students to return to the building. No one was injured.
