Feedback Sought on Proposed Greenlink Route Tonight in Simpsonville
Third of four public sessions
The deadline is nearing for residents of Mauldin and Simpsonville to give feedback on the new bus route from Greenlink that would service their towns.
Public information sessions were held in Mauldin and Simpsonville in the last week. A third meeting will be a Simpsonville Elementary School tonight at 6 p.m. The final public session will be next Thursday, March 8 at Calvary Baptist Chapel in Simpsonville at 6 p.m.
John Gardner, director of planning and economic development for Mauldin, who helped plan the proposed route said, “The routing through Mauldin is the best option to serve the areas that will generate the most ridership and connect people to grocery stores and other retail, and to connect to service jobs and entry level manufacturing jobs.”

Gardner said officials are still interested in whether the public believes the route should end at Haywood Mall/Patewood medical center area, the University Center/Greenville Tech area to the north as well as the southern end of the route in Simpsonville area.
Under the current proposal Gardner said connecting the bus line to downtown might not be feasible due its distance from Simpsonville. “Serving downtown Greenville probably would require changes to the current assumptions about how the service will operate,” Gardner said.

Alternative proposals also exist, which the public is being encouraged to consider. Those alternatives assume the route would end near Fairview Road to the south.
A factor to consider in choosing the stops along the route is proximity to ADA Paratransit Eligible persons who also need to be serviced as required by law.
