With Independence Day falling on a Monday this year it’s one extra day for fireworks. There are plenty of places in the Upstate to see the sky light up. Here are five places, four of which are within a short drive and one is for those wanting to make their sky-watching a road trip.
- 2011 Independence Day at Charter Amphitheatre in Simpsonville featuring the Greenville Symphony Orchestra. Gates open at 5:30. Tickets can be purchased in prices ranging from $75-$350. But if you’re willing to bring a lawn chair or blanket you can hang out on the lawn at $5.
- Take in the Kinder Family Foundation’s 3rd Annual Independence Day Celebration and Fundraising Event at Broken Brook Ranch in Fountain Inn. Tickets are $25 and proceeds benefit Generations Group and Meals and Wheels of Greenvile. More information can be found here.
- Easley has a full weekend of activities schedule to celebrate our nation’s birthday. And it’s all .
- Enjoy some Greenville Drive baseball chased with the usual Friday Night Fireworks display—that doubles this week as a celebration of America. Cost is the price of a ticket to the game with the first-place Hickory Crawdads.
- And if you feel like hopping in the car for about an hour or so, why not head on up to Asheville on Sunday? The Ashevillians are having a downtown celebration that starts at 4 p.m. and runs until the first “boom.”
Whichever you choose, enjoy the foreworks and Happy Birthday, America!
