Former Clemson Stars to Conduct Mauldin Hoops Camp
Greg Buckner, Trevor Booker will hold basketball camp next month at Mauldin Sports Center.
Greg Buckner and Trevor Booker, two of Clemson's all-time basketball players, will lead a five-day basketball camp at the Mauldin Sports Center next month.
The camp will be held June 10-14 for boys and girls 7 and older.
Booker, a Union native and currently a forward with the NBA's Washington Wizards, and Buckner, a 12-year NBA veteran, will be on hand each day of the camp for instruction and interaction with campers, Greenville News reported.
Th camp costs $150 per child and includes daily lunch and a camp T-shirt. The camp will be set up into specialized skills stations focusing on fundamentals, and broken down by age and skill level to maximize teaching.
Booker, selected in the NBA's first round in 2010, helped lead Clemson to three straight NCAA tournaments and was a first-team All-ACC selection as a senior.
Buckner, a member of Clemson's Athletic Hall of Fame, also led the Tigers to three straight NCAA appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 1997. Drafted in the second round of the 1998 NBA draft, Buckner had a 12-year NBA career. Buckner, one of Clemson's all-time greats, led the team in scoring each of his four years on the Tigers' squad.
