Garnett Misses First All-Star Game Since 1996

Aged 35, the Mauldin native has been banged up with injuries

Mauldin native Kevin Garnett will miss the NBA All-Star game for the first time since his first year in the league in 1996.

The Celtics star has been fighting injuries for much of the year. His average of 14.1 points per game is the lowest since his rookie year and his rebound average of 7.8 is the third lowest of his career.

After winning the Atlantic Division with 56 victories last year the Celtics have spent much of the year around the .500 mark.
