GCSO Deputies Seek Family Dollar Armed Robber
Incident on Augusta Road also prompted lockdowns at two local schools.

Greenville County Sheriff's deputies are seeking help identifying a suspect in the armed robbery of the Family Dollar store on Augusta Road on Tuesday morning.
The robbery occurred shortly before 11:30 a.m. at the store, located at 8090 Augusta Road. The robbery also prompted the temporary lockdown of Woodmont Middle School and Sue Cleveland Elementary School.
At 11:27 a.m. Tuesday, the GCSO received a 911 call in reference to an armed robbery at the store. Deputies learned that a black male, approximately 21 years old, wearing a grey ski mask and jacket, entered the store armed with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk.
The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.
The suspect is described as being dark skinned and approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds.
The clerk was the only person in the store and there were no injuries reported.
