Greenbrier Elementary Named 2012 School of Character

Only four such schools in the state

Greenbrier Elementary School was recently named a 2012 School of Character by the Palmetto Character Council.

Only three other schools in South Carolina were so honored and Greenbrier was the only school in Greenville County to be recognized.

L.W. Conder Elementary Arts Integrated Magnet in Richland Two Schools, Burgess Elementary School and North Myrtle Beach Primary School. The latter two schools are located in Horry County.

In order to be named a School of Character, candidate schools must demonstrate improved academic achievement, student behavior and school climate as a result of focusing on character.

Greenbrier, along with the other three schools, will be recognized at an awards reception at Richland Two Conference Center, Columbia Place Mall, on March 14 at 1:30 p.m.

The School of Character awards are sponsored by the State and National Schools of Character Program. The program is administered by the Character Education Partnership in Washington, D.C.
