Hartwell Woman Killed in I-85 Crash

A Georgia woman is dead after a single-vehicle crash along Interstate 85 Friday morning.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the 85-year-old Hartwell woman crashed about 1:45 a.m. on north I-85, near the 42 mile marker.

Troopers said the woman ran off the right side of the interstate and hit a pole. She was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital for her injuries, but later died.

The driver has not been identified at this time.
