Lady Mavs Take Down Dorman, 65-56

No. 6 beats No. 3 on the road.

Undaunted by a seven-point deficit to start the fourth quarter, the Mauldin High girls basketball team stormed back to beat homestanding Dorman in a Regional showdown on Friday Night by a score of 65-56.

Trailing 44-37 after three quarters, the Lady Mavericks blitzed the Lady Cavaliers 28-12. The of Morgan Alexander and Tori Whittenberg once gain led the scoring parade with 24 and 14 points respectively.

Mauldin improves to 13-1 on the year while Dorman falls to 9-2. Dorman came in to the game ranked third in the state among AAAA squads while Mauldin was ranked sixth. That is sure to change when the next poll comes out.

The Lady Mavs return to Spartanburg County on Tuesday when they take on Boiling Springs.
