Man Arrested for Meth Possession, Impaired Driving
Mauldin Police catch impaired driver Darby Shelby with hypodermic needles filled with methamphetamine in his car.

An drug-impaired driver careening recklessly through downtown Mauldin on Monday evening was arrested by Mauldin Police.
After being reported by a concerned motorist who spotted a blue Pontiac driving recklessly and possibly drunk, police stopped Darby Daniel Shelby, 42, of Greenville, at the North Main Street Post Office.
Instead of a drunken driver, they found a "very twitchy" Shelby, with sores on his head and face consistent with methamphetamine use, and needle marks on both his forearms, an incident report stated.
Police suspicions were later confirmed when an officer found three hypodermic needles filled with methamphetamine, the report said.
Shelby was arrested and charged with meth possession, driving under the influence, and driving under suspension. He was booked into the Greenville County Detention Center where he remained Tuesday on a $1,022 bond.
