Mauldin Could Gain Link to Swamp Rabbit Trail
Possibility is part of a road-swap proposal with SCDOT.
A road swap with SCDOT could open up a Mauldin street to the county's popular Swamp Rabbit Trail.
According to a proposal, Mauldin would accept Hyde Circle maintenance responsibilities from the state Department of Transportation, while the DOT would take a short section of Bridges Road, including the traffic light at the intersection with Holland Road, The Greenville News reported.
City Administrator Trey Eubanks said that shifting responsibility for Hyde Circle to the city would make it easier to expand Mauldin’s trail offerings, including a potential link to the Swamp Rabbit Trail, the paper reported.
