The Mauldin girls basketball team lost its first game of the season to Parkview, a powerful team from the Atlanta area, 57-45. The Lady Mavericks fell behind by 26 points in the first half. They cut the margin to nine in the fourth quarter but could get no closer.
The Lady Mavs will play in the third place game against Butler High School from North Carolina at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
