UPDATE: Robbery Suspect Who Prompted School Lockdown Arrested
The man believed to have have robbed a Dollar General on Tuesday is in custody, deputies said.

Greenville County deputies have charged Booker Thomas, III, with robbery after they said he forcibly removed cash from the money drawer at Dollar General at 1249 E. Butler Road on Tuesday.
Booker was arrested today at his home. He is in the Greenville County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.

REPORTED ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON
Greenville County School officials are saying that Mauldin High School and the Golden Strip Career Center were both on lockdown this afternoon as a result of a robbery at the Dollar General on 1249 E. Butler Road at approximately 3:00 p.m. Officials are saying the suspect in the robbery escaped down Butler Road near both schools. The lockdown was lifted at 3:25 and the suspect is still at large.

Greenville County police are saying the suspect was described as a black male, late 30s to early 40s, standing approximately 6’2” and weighing approximately 240 lbs. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, khaki pants, and a black stocking cap. The suspect left the scene in an older model burgundy Suburban headed towards I-385.
