The winter sports season begins in earnest this week with the boys and girls basketball teams opening their season on Tuesday at Eastside. The girls in particular have high expectations, rated third in the state. The boys will have to be ready to go as Eastside is highly rated.
The wrestling team opened its season last week at Hillcrest. They too travel to Eastside as part of the Southern Slam.
