UPDATE: Arrest Made in Bethel Elementary Incident
Man seen outside the school on Friday
Mauldin police have arrested 23 year-old Octavio Ginez Altamirano of 10 Monroe Street in Greenville and charged him with Disturbing Schools and Harassment 1st Degree. Altamirano is being held at the Greenville County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
The investigation remains active and thus no further information can be released at this time.

Mauldin Police announced today they are questioning a man in connection with the incident described below.
With assistance from the Greer Police Department, Mauldin cops made contact with an Hispanic male who is believed to be the suspicious man seen hanging around the Bethel Elementary School campus on February 3, 2012. The man is being questioned by Mauldin Police at this time and his identity is still being verified.

Mauldin Police are asking for the public's help finding a man who was seen outside in a Honda Prelude on Friday.
The man was noticed by a school crossing guard and drove away when the crossing guard approached him.
Shortly after driving off, man returned and drove into the school drop-off loop and attempted to talk with a student. A teacher interrupted the
conversation and asked the man if she could help him and he said, “No” and sped off again.
The man being sought is described as possibly an Asian or Hispanic male, possibly 20-30 years old, and had a medium build. He was seen driving a gold in color Honda Prelude with custom rims, a large spoiler, a sun roof, and a black in color hood bra on the front of the vehicle.
