Mavericks 'Blitz' Mauldin for Booster Club

Annual event is biggest of its kind during the year

On Sunday the Mauldin High All-Sports Booster Club held their biggest fundraising event of the year, the Mavs Membership Blitz.

Parents and student-athletes gathered in the school auditorium early in the afternoon before canvassing the area.

The Booster Club provides financial support to athletic programs at Mauldin High, most notably in the form of coaches’ pay.

This is the sixth year of the Blitz and in his remarks kicking off the event Athletic Director Steve Frady noted how integral it has been for the Boosters and to the success of the athletic program as a whole. He pointed out that the number of championships across all sports in the last six years have nearly eclipsed that of the previous 30.

This year’s financial goal is $77,000 and the Boosters hoped to garner a large portion of that on Sunday.
