Mutt's Becomes Smitty's on March 1

Last month, Patch put to rest rumors that Mutt's would be closing and instead that the staple of Mauldin restaurants would be changing its name. Owner Steve Smith told Patch that, starting on Thursday Mar. 1, the new name will be Smitty's Country Cooking & Catering.

According to Smith, the restaurant will close on Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 28-29 for renovations that will update the seating and menu.

Smith said that Smitty's will continue to cater and the menu will offer more vegetable options.
