Registration Now Open for Langston Study Skills Workshop – Registration is now underway for Study Skills – Preparing for Middle School workshop offered to rising 6th graders. The purpose of this workshop is to give rising 6th graders the skills and confidence they need to be successful in middle school. Sessions will be held July 16 –20,  July 23 -27, and  July 30 – August 3 with morning and afternoon sessions available.  The cost is $100. Space is limited to 15 participants per session and sessions fill up quickly. Please contact Rob Venable at 864-286-9700 or rvenable@langstoncharter.org with any questions or to register.      

Volunteer Opportunity to Support March of Dimes – All Langston staff, parents and students are invited to come and help stuff envelopes for March of Dimes on February 7 and 21 from 3:00PM – 5:00PM at the school.  If you are interested, please contact Pam Dawson at 915-3833 or email pdawson5@aol.com.

Langston Relay For Life T-shirts - The 2012 Langston Relay for Life T-Shirts are on sale for $12.  All proceeds go towards Langston’s fundraising efforts for Relay for Life (American Cancer Society).

Langston Golf Team – A co-ed golf team is currently being formed with practices beginning Wednesdays in mid February. Parent volunteers are needed to assist with coaching and carpools. Please contact Randy or Lisa Schickler at rlschick7685@gmail.com with any questions.

Captain Jimmie Holland to Visit Langston - On Friday, February 10th, Captain Jimmie Holland, a West Point graduate who has served tours in both Iraq and Afghan as a civil engineer will be here in combat uniform and will bring some of his gadgets with him. He’ll talk about his experiences, the Afghan terrain, cultural issues of the middle eastern region, and leadership/making good choices in general. Parents and media are welcome to attend.

Stevie B’s Spirit Night – Langston’s Spirit Night is Thursday, February 23 at Stevi B's Pizza on Woodruff Road. Stevie B’s will donate $1.00 for each person who mentions Langston.
