Langston Speech and Debate Team Wins Awards in State Championship – The Langston Speech and Debate team won 2nd place over all in the state championship held at Woodmont High School on March 3, 2012.  Individual awards were also won by the following students:  Hasna Karim-first place Extemporaneous Speaking and Impromptu, Roann Abdeladl-second place Extemporaneous Speaking and Impromptu, Cameron Dragoo-third place Extemporaneous Speaking and Impromptu, Sarim Masood-fourth place Extemporaneous Speaking and Impromptu, Varsha Gopal-third place Original Oratory, Aleeza Masood-fifth place Original Oratory, Team of Anish Chaluvadi and Ankeith Khandavalli-third place Public Forum Debate, and Team of Tanner Street and Hunter Street-fourth place Public Forum Debate.

Langston Science Fair Winners - Congratulations to Langston students Anish Chaluvadi, Brittany Williams, Kinley Anderson, Sierra Horne, Hasna Karim, Sabrina Sabir, Lauren Ward, Roann Abdeladl, Matthew Langley, Ashley Avila, Madelyn Reilly, Branson Hall, Pimprenelle Serbource, Ankith Khandavalli, Mary Kathryn Sizemore who have been selected to compete in the 58th Annual Greenville County and South Carolina Regional Science and Engineering Fair 2012 on March 27 at the TD Convention Center.

Langston Boys Movie Night - A Movie Night will be held for Langston boys on Friday, March 16 at 7PM at the school.  Cost is $3.00 per student and all money raised goes to Relay for Life.  Please contact Kelly Weekes, Director of Campus Affairs, at 864-286-9700 with any questions.

Blood Drive – A Blood Drive will be held at Langston Charter Middle School on March 26 from 2PM – 6PM.  Parent volunteers are needed to assist with this event.  Please contact Kelly Weekes, Director of Campus Affairs, at 864-286-9700 with any questions or to volunteer.

Honor Flight Benefit Concert at Langston…A concert featuring musician, Justin Hill, will be held March 24, 4:00pm - 6:00pm at Langston Charter Middle School. Admission is free, but donations will be taken for Honor Flight Upstate SC - a non-profit, volunteer-based program that is dedicated to honoring our World War II veterans and the sacrifices they have made by flying our World War II veterans to Washington, DC to see the memorial built in their honor and to experience recognition for their service that literally saved the world.  This event is open to the public.

Stevie B’s Spirit Night – Langston’s Spirit Night is Thursday, March 22 at Stevi B's Pizza on Woodruff Road. Stevie B’s will donate $1.00 for each person who mentions Langston.

Upcoming Deadline for DC Trip – A $200 deposit is due in the school office by March 16 for the Washington DC trip that current seventh graders will take as their eighth grade trip in October.
