Perry Coming to Upstate in Need of a Lift
Struggling campaign looking to regain momentum

With his campaign in need of a boost, Texas Gov. Rick Perry will make a campaign stop at ISO Poly Films in Laurens at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning.
A press release provided by the Perry campaign indicated that Perry will elaborate on his economic plan during the stop. A more important accomplishment may be the Fox News-reported endorsement by S.C. House Speaker Bobby Harrell, R-Charleston. A meeting with Gov. Nikki Haley is reportedly going to follow.
It will be Perry’s since shortly after entering the GOP race in August. During his last visit and created a buzz that helped him rocket to the top of polls in both South Carolina and the nationally.

However, just as quickly as Perry got to the top, was as quickly as he fell back in the pack. Polls conducted around Labor Day showed Perry as the frontrunner. But uneven performances in the debates over the last month and having to deflect one distraction after another have caused Perry to trail both Mitt Romney and Herman Cain in the most recent polls. Perry, who has been re-elected three times in his native Texas, has also been criticized for being short on specifics when it comes to the issues. The speech he’ll make in Laurens will be part of his effort to dispel those detractors, at least from an economic perspective.
Perry’s appearance in the Upstate comes on the heels of an endorsement by former flat tax advocate Steve Forbes. Perry has also received the endorsement of .

Perry’s host in Laurens, ISO Poly Films, is a manufacturer of specialty plastic films that opened in 1998.
