PHOTO GALLERY: 25 Boys Graduate From Mauldin Police's Cadet Program

25 enrolled, 25 graduated

Earlier this month 25 girls graduated from the Mauldin Youth Cadet Program. On Friday, it was the boys turn.

Proud parents and family members packed the city council room at City Hall on Friday to watch a ceremony that recognized all the boys by way of a plaque and video tribute.

This was the eighth Cadet program thus far, and this year is the first that saw 100 percent completion from both the boys and girls.

Trey Wilson was named outstanding cadet and Elijah Wilson was named most athletic. Darian Hope was given a special commendation for his efforts at helping a fellow Cadet who was in danger while the group was away on a field trip.

The Cadet program is part of a larger effort at community outreach by Mauldin Police (see accompanying video).
