Police: Woman Victimized by Vandals

Vandalism a constant problem for one Mauldin homeowner.

Most people may likely never be a victim of vandals, but for one Mauldin homeowner vandalism seems to be a weekly occurrence.

A woman who lives on the 400 block of Adams Mill Road reported earlier this week that vandals had wrecked the plant bed surrounding her mailbox, a Mauldin Police report said. The woman said the vandalism happened sometime after she went to bed one night last week.

When asked how many times this has happened, the woman told police that she is victimized by vandals weekly — sometimes twice a week, the report said.

The woman said she suspects that the culprits are neighborhood teens who roam the streets at night, the report said.

In response, police officers told the victim they would tell fellow officers to keep a closer eye on her residence and ordered that her home be placed on extra patrol for one month for both daytime and nighttime hours, the report said.
